OpenCart was chosen as the base for its robust product catalog and built-in inventory management system. However, the standard workflows did not match local buying habits: cash on delivery rather than card payment, zone-based delivery with variable rates, and handling of bulky products (refrigerators, washing machines) with specific delivery constraints.
The modifications cover the checkout funnel (simplified steps, cash payment accepted), the catalog (filters by appliance type, detailed technical specifications), and the jQuery frontend (product-gallery animations, specification comparison). The back office lets the manager track orders and inventory from a tailored interface.
