OpenCart is a good starting point for an online store, but its original code shows its limits as soon as you move beyond standard cases. Adding specific features becomes fragile, managing complex products is limited, and adapting to local payment methods requires deep modifications.

The fork was created to overcome these limits. An improved abstraction layer, a cleaner architecture and a more flexible module system made it possible to build several online stores on this base, each customized for its market. An e-commerce platform with repair tracking was one of the first to benefit from it.
